WEEKEND HOME IN MULSHI

This weekend house in Mulshi is one of the projects from the early years of my practice and remains particularly close to me. The house has a larger hill behind it and the Mulshi Dam in front, and is part of the larger catchment. The site was previously used as rice fields, with a stream along its edge that brings down considerable amounts of water and silt during the monsoon. The design intention was to make the site read and feel as though it were part of the larger forest on the hills behind, while keeping the landscape simple and meditative.
