The first part of the stream was relatively deep and retained water naturally. The design explored the possibility of creating a bund across this section to form a wetland. The area already supported old-growth trees and a several bird species so the wetland was conceived of as an additional habitat within this existing setting. Planting of water loving plants along either sides was planned.

The second part of the stream was fairly shallow, and the design proposed placing a few boulders within the stream to improve oxygenation. Further along, as the depth changed again, another bund was planned. A boardwalk along one edge was proposed to allow people to experience the stream and its various components, with water-loving plants lining both sides.
